Today we went to Bellagio, the town at the northern tip of the peninsula that divides the two “legs” of lake Como. Day started absolutely freezing cold, after a lot of rain overnight. Not actually raining particularly hard in the morning though, drizzle. There was fresh snow on all of the mountain peaks around the lake. Snow a week away from summer! We went to Bellagio as planned anyway, had an enjoyable time exploring the town, and then caught the ferry to Menaggio (via Varenna, on the eastern shore of lake Como, opposite.) Thanks to the amount of time we had bought in the carpark, we only had time for one drink in the first cafe in Menaggio, which was a shame for two reasons: it looked like a really lovely place that warranted more of a look around, and the weather had suddenly turned, and it was actually becoming sunny. By the time we arrived back in Bellagio it was a lovely sunny afternoon. Turned out to be a lovely day!
