Palau Guell, Lunch, staying up late

Yesterday sounds simple, when you write it down, but it was very intense in its parts.

We started (late) with Palau Guell, another Gaudi construction, just off La Rambla. Totally amazing, in a weird, gothic kind of way. Will definitely be posting some photos, later. We loitered as long as we could, because a thunderstorm had struck (it was raining when we arrived, but it got stronger.)

In the rain we walked down to Barceloneta to a lunch booking. Pretty soaked, under our umbrellas by the time we arrived, at which point the rain stopped and it cleared up nicely. Lunch was amazing: razor clams and sea cucumbers (with porcini) for starters, and a rice and lobster casserole for main, all washed down with some fantastic chardonnay. We did squeeze desert in, somehow, too. Did need to have a quick siesta after that, so walked straight home.

Woke up after dark, and went out to see the Christmas lights. Lovely.
